On 19th September 2012, Eric "Winkle" Brown, the world's greatest test pilot, visited BAE Systems Warton. The aim of his visit was to present on the "Early Days of Flight Testing" to BAE Systems personnel, in which he talked about flying the Me163, Me262, Spitfire and DH108, and about interrogating such people as Werner Von Braun and Willy Messerschmitt immediately after the War. The day also included visits to the Typhoon Assembly facility and simulator, and informal discussions with Flight Operations and Heritage Group personnel. Conscious that many more people wanted to hear him speak than were able to attend his presentation, Eric graciously agreed to a filming a brief interview.
