Mohammed Rafi - jane sake to jaan

Mohammed Rafi (December 24, 1924 July 31, 1980) was a popular Indian playback singer. A versatile singer, Rafi sang in many Indian languages including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada and Telugu. He is primarily remembered, however, for his Hindi songs, which still remain very popular in the Indian subcontinent and also among the Indian diaspora. Along with Mukesh and Kishore Kumar, he was one of the leading male Bollywood playback singers from the 1950s to the 1970s. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1965.

@mohanpatel419 Yes so am I. Right from chilhood O.P. was one of my most favourite music director. When I wrote to him about his Sawan Ki Ghata creation upon buying the 78rpm disc of Hole Hole Chalo More Sajnaa comparing to the great number of 50s from film Baap Re Baap "Piya Piya Piya mora jiya........he wrote back with interesting comments about selection of songs for Binaca Geetmala where he complaint about bribe.

A SONG LISTENED AFTER 53 YEARS JUST IMMEGINE HOW ONE FEELS.I have never missed any movie where Nayyar sahab has directed the music. Even i used to write him from london many moons a go. And about Raffi sahab what more you can say.I have so many songs of op but on audio tapes. but thanks for posting

great song based on Raag Asavari. Difficult to believe though we very well know it is O.P. ji's composition. another beautiful Bhajan is in Naya Daur "Aana hai to aa".Do u have other songs from Ustad e.g. ye sama fir kaha,kya kya chhipa hai tere dilmenetc?

Just for this song, I saw Ustad numerous times ( free because the Cinema hall belonged to a friend of mine) and used to put the 8 annas coin in the juke box at the "Freshco" restaurant in Calcutta.
