  • Darker Shade of Black is of course "Norwegian Wood" -- wonder if we should give the Beatles credit for the "original" riddim :)

  • Yeah, I know but I wanted to use the jamaican version that started it all, to keep it simple! African Beat is "actually" Bert Kaempfert's Afrikaan Beat for example and there's more of these tunes I've heard non-reggae original versions or obvious influences of aswell but I've never had a pen near by, haha!

  • @runitselectah My brother big Beatles fan but me always love Reggae since I bought my first 45 at 8 years old!!

    If you listen close to lots of different Music styles you can hear variations to loads of Riddims!!

    Anyways my bro type "Norwegian Wood" - Beatles into google and that's all he get where as I type " Darker Shade of Black riddim" into google then all delightful manner of Artists, Producers and Versions come up!!!

    How I love this Music!!!

  • true true...or if you used el cumbanchero instaed of rockfort rock...that wouldve sounded funny along with the beatles song and the countless temptations songs haha lest we not forget the you dont care versions original wouldve been by curtis mayfield as well...too much music man!!!
