I've had a Epson 8700UB, Mitsubishi HC7000 and my current JVC. I must say that my JVC picture quality is much better then that of my prior projectors. Down fall is that JVC's projectors are huge and much heavier but the build quality far out weighs the rest.

nice projector but have you taken a look at the BenQ W6000 with vertical and horizontal lens shift very good zoom lens the sharpest picture available from any other sub $15,000 projector it features 2400 lumens with a fantastic 50,000 to 1 DLP Dark Chip 3 contrast for less than 2,800 bucks NOW THAT'S A TRUE PROJECTOR

Yeah I did consider it, but it has a higher than everage image noise and an intermittant whine noise. I needed low image noise and low fan noise in adittion to the sharp picture. 2500 lumens is great, but at a viewing distance of 12 feet, it's has no meaning. The benq is still great in general though-just not great to me.

yes I got mine yesterday and it is true It does have some image noise but that's how most dlp units look it just that this being an incredible light canon brings the noise somewhat more into play...and true is really not meant from everyone, personally I needed a 1080p Light Canon with inky blacks with the ease of placement and had to be DLP or LCOS as I have had many issues with LCD's image degradation problems soft look to it and unnatural kind of image. But I have not seen the newer units.

Yeah, I was kind of against LCD's for a while, but the reviews turned me around!! This new generation of 1080p Projectors on both sides are pretty awesome....you definitely picked the right pj if you were looking fir a light cannon! The BenQ a briiightness beast!!
