On October 1st 1969, The Friars Club decided to roast the larger-than-life television icon, Milton Berle. Many celebrities showed up to insult this comedy legend including Alan King, Jack Benny, Steve Lawrence and even Dodger pitcher, Don Drysdale! This clip shows Red Buttons doing his unforgettable "Never Got A Dinner" routine for Uncle Miltie! This clip is just as funny today as it was 40 years ago! If you enjoyed this video more hilarious comedy will be available at www.classicfriarsroasts.com starting May 1st!

  • Love Red but these Friars Club Roasts were and are even more horrible now. Dean Martin Roasts were the best! Search um here. You'll Laugh ur ass off.

  • I love how he throws in a little Yiddish...

  • A comedian who knew history impressive

  • One of the true greats, very very funny. The comedians of today try to be funny, use profanity but they don't come close to the likes of Red Buttons, Milton, Sid,Don Rickles, etc. They are the true greats, I love them all.

  • clever comedian
