Interesting...here at Auburn University we make a real hovercraft every 4 months, and it goes 65mph. Except we use an engine equivalent to that of a snowmobile rather than a leaf blower
now if you're real ingenious. use some car batteries two leaf blowers i believe an inverter is required and now you're not limited to the length of your power cable. and if you think about use of a more effective pluenum chamber would increase efficiency and lift ability of your hovercraft. tehee =) built an autonomous hovercraft using centrifugal fans and Lego NxT brain to make it travel on its own.
