When I saw this on TV, I wondered if it was for real or if 'Saturday Night Live' had spoofed it. No, it's real! Why does this commercial make me step back and wonder about it? Well, auto insurance is for replacing or fixing vehicles. Yes, there are some policies that allow for personal medical care costs, which is understandable if a person is injured in an accident. But, THIS commercial talks about 'other costs' outside of rehabilitation... house cleaning, lawn care, and pet services. Now, don't get me wrong here-- being unable to care for one's self is difficult when injured, and it makes doing those other activities even more challenging.
BUT! The way our society has gotten more and MORE stupid in each generation, this commercial made it seem like another convenient and lazy way for the Baby Boomer generation to get others to do their bidding... Entitlement. The world belongs to Boomers already, and this commercial just seemed like a 'free ride' for Boomers to say, "Oh, my injury is so bad, go mow my lawn, and while you're at it, walk my animal, and while you're here can you do my laundry and housework because i'm too injured... [But, I bet they could make their tee-off time for golf...]".
Seriously though, for those people who have been injured in an accident, it's no laughing matter. And, to have this service for people is a god-send for many unable to move due to their injury. I do have compassion; I just FELT this commercial had a "ripoff WOOHOO!" approach & feel to it...
(My apologies if anyone has been offended...)
