  • After 7 monhts you havn't answered my quistion and I don't understand how you can be so happy or cheer of letting the big slug swallowing up the sea hare which I considered you for animal cruelty

  • @1979cl1 Sorry for taking soo long ot respond to you; I rarely check this video. It does seem like they were being insensitive here. The navanax don't always attack the aplysia and so they were just happy to be getting data. We all love aplysia, and life in general as biologists, and we don't take the loss of their lives lightly at all. The research has been approved by an ethics committee and is only done in the interest of attaining valuable knowledge that can not be obtained otherwise.

  • @Serotonergic Ok but what happened to the aplysia after it got sucked into the navanax slug?

  • @1979cl1 In this particular protocol, sublethal attacks were studied and so the aplysia were eventually pulled away from the navanax.

  • @Serotonergic I'm glad to hear the little sea hare was alright after that but i also saw your other video where the poor littel fellow nearly gets bullied byt the lobster and looks like he was going to get chopped up but good thing he inked the lobster to repell it.

  • @1979cl1 I feel you. I really love aplysia and hate to see them get hurt :(

  • @kritikalmass3 Yeah.

  • :-s

  • I just love Navanax slugs. Their so colorful creatures.

  • Well, what happen to the sea hare afterwards? Did it survived or it died inside the mouth of that sea slug?
