Hey everyone! As promised, here's the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens review! I'd just like to let everyone know that my primary focus is still filmmaking and always will be. BUT - I thought I'd start putting more content for you guys so there isn't so much of a lull between videos. Enjoy and tell me other videos you'd like to see!

Please Note:
Google is now paying me through their ads on some of my YouTube videos which means I have to get rid of some of the videos with copyrighted materials (songs) in them. So, some of my videos will be taken off this YouTube channel but will be moved over to a seperate Vimeo channel where you can still watch them. More informationt to come and keep updated by liking the facebook page above and subscribing. Thanks guys.

  • I'm going to Europe for a working holiday thing. I want a fast lens (1.4, 1.8 or 2.0) that would be good for standard walk around photography. I have a crop-sensor 550d, would the focal length be short enough for that, or am I better of getting something wider?

  • @Reuben235

If you're looking for something wide angle, don't go with this. Technically this is a "wide angle" lens but on a cropped sensor it acts like a 50mm, which is not very wide at all.

  • awesome review! unfortunately i still need both of my testicles, i've decided to buy this lens and 7d. thanks yo!

  • @frimpungping

Well maybe we could combine testicles and then . . . wait, oh god, what did I just say . . .

  • I have a canon 50mm 1.8 lens...Would it be much of a difference if I got this sigma 30 mm 1.4? Will the quality be better? I just want to know if upgrading from a canon 50mm 1.8 lens to a sigma 30 mm 1.4 is worth it.

  • @mease1

It really depends on what you are doing. If you think you'll need more space when you're shooting, then the 30mm might be for you. I recommend just looking around at other lenses until you get a nice feel for how you should expand your collection of lenses. As for quality, I think you will be fine with that 50mm 1.8 for awhile.

Yeah it's in the review, just some text over the review section outlining that. I'm still learning so I didn't really think of it, but I do have one now and it is definitely a MUST for outdoor shooting.

  • @russellstafford

    Thanks man!

  • Really great review man. Exactly the information I was looking for.

  • Your shutter should never change. You need a ND filter. If you change the shutter the video can get choppy.
