  • John Hitchcock is a little shit. Won't even shake Ozwald's hand.

  • Ramroop's explanation is very enlightening!

  • ...wot accents?

  • @StigRossi Point taken. Thanks for your kind and open words. It's true of course that you'll find more white people with a sophisticated accent than blacks (even though this is gradually changing as well). Same way Boateng is a prime example of the British saying "Lots of class but working class". The complete opposite applies to some of the folks on Savile Row. Guys like Hitchcock or Richard Anderson look and behave like uptight petit-bourgeois dressed in fancy suits. Best, C.

No you're right. That probably sounded uber racist. Not to mention classist. Its just that historicaly in Britain, whites were more privileged than blacks, went to better schools and hence had a more "posh" accent. Boateng however was not privileged and grew up poor but sounds and acts so classy compared to a lot of other supposedly upper class whites and British gentry

  • @StigRossi How come you readily assume that white people have a better, or more refined, English than blacks? The way you put the arguments presupposes some kind of natural dichotomy, which is a bit absurd. No offence meant. Agreed on Boateng's suit (even though, ironically, he's wearing a different one during the interview than the one he suggestably has entered the shop in ;-)). Best, C.

  • ramroops explaining was so mesmerizing.

  • @StigRossi Absolutely. Mr Boateng is more Saville Row than most of the old codgers who have been there forever. I think he, together with Andrew Ramroop and Patrick Grant (of Norton and Sons), is the future of tailoring.

  • Whats interesting is that a black man (Boateng) has a more refined accent than the white w@nker John Hitchcock, w/ his ridiculously stupid and lower-class "Lahndahn" accent. I love Boateng's suit

  • Style is substance. If you don't understand that you're just carrying yourself through this life. Ideals and philosophies are stylish, thoughts are stylish, lives are stylish. 'Lifestyle' is not an accident of neology. History is trend. Zeitgeist reflects and creates who we are at a given moment, And zeitgeist is style. I'll stop now.

  • Ozwald would be more respected and appreciated if he were an italian based designer rather than being an englishman with a shop on savile row with these snobs like H. Poole or Anderson- Sheppard.
