I remember this day well - I was on the set doing a daily 6am broadcast. We had 4 lock down cameras, no stage manager. I decided to have fun with being all along on a soundstage.
I can't even recall if this aired or if it was memorialized on tape and then used in a gag reel. If it aired - it is probably being seen by more people on youtube than saw it live. Either way it brings back fond memories.
20 years before Colbert (who admittedly does it better) there was a young guy named Moret.

AWESOME! Nice to hear from the man himself. I culled this clip from the KCBS gag reel that a friend of mine had given me many years ago.
