Host Anthony Totera interviews OSA Region 4 and Ontario U16 Boys Coach and Assistant Coach of Canadas U17 Men's Team, on the difference between winning and player development in high performance soccer and some of the strategies for international success. Originally from Cameroon, Patrick Tobo has been involved in soccer at an elite level as both as a Coach and a Player. While participating in Cameroons Under 20 and World Cup Programs, Patrick was able to obtain a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon. He participated in the 1981 U20 FIFA World Cup and the 1982 and 1990 FIFA World Cups. He also helped Cameroon capture the 1988 African Cup Championship. Patrick came to Canada in 1992 and was a CNSL all-star with both the Toronto Astros and Toronto Italia. He began to focus on coaching upon finishing his playing career in 1995. He had a one year stint with a Jamaican club before returning to Canada to coach in the CISL. Patrick began working with Brampton East Soccer Club in 2000, while running his own development academy. He was the Head Coach of Team Ontario for the Canada Games and the NTCO (2005). He was the Head Coach for the Ontario U14 Boys team in 2006 and has been an Instructor for the OSA since 2003 as well as a staff member of the Canada National Team since 2004. Patrick obtained his Canadian A and UEFA 'A' Licence (3rd degree in Switzerland). Fluent in both French and English, Patricks Region 4 includes Scarborough, Durham and ECOSA Districts.
