OK, I've been at this 36 yrs and haven't had a front end(or any other part) come apart yet. I use high frequency on my Miller when doing front ends in order to get plenty of penetration. All my front ends are solid steel, cold rolled 3/4 ". I have replaced several front ends that were bent up in crashes, but none of them had broke welds anywhere on them. Perhaps you are more into "fancy" metals, which do require special welding. Have you looked at my action vids yet? Do your Scoots do that?
you really should learn to weld, before showing people how to make motorbike front forks BIG BIG BIG safety issue those welds are too cold and show signs of undercut (cracks will show soon )
Anyway these should have been TIG welded and then crack tested, pitty the poor sole whos riding this bike when the front end breaks apart.
And yes I do know what Im talking about as ive been welding for 23 yrs and tutoringfor 10yrs on welding!!
Nice fork detail. I built a trike with custom 5 link rear 914 stub axles and used a 650 Shadow front end with 45 degrees of rake and it didn't turn for shit so I am going to redo the front end with a a similar version of yours.
