The Securities Industry Association states "Front line staff must wear the licence where it can be seen at all times when engaging in designated licensable activity". WCC's scamera car operators were unable to produce their licences, never mind displaying them.

Only a week previously, we filmed one of Camden's CEO's not displaying a tax disc and his exemption permit that allows him to park 3 weeks out of date.

These staff are provided by NSL Services Ltd. These councils and NSL must either feel they are above the law or are just incompetently managed. Neither is reassuring.

Although the operators are only required to hold an SIA CCTV licence if they are viewing the CCTV footage, if as you have pointed out they do hold SIA licences, then they should carry them on their person and they should also be displayed.

  • I think it is acceptable for people to have it in the wallet or pocket but should produce it when asked anything about their license.

You should have taken their faces and number plate on camera then you can really teach these people the what they should be doing.
