Volerò - Original

I wrote this song after a rather long and tiresome week. I was led to Isaiah 40:27-31 where Israel and Judah are desperately crying out to the Lord and wondering why He is overlooking them. The prophet responds by reminding them that He who created all things and continues to sustain His creation doesn't sleep, but gives new strength to those who put their faith in Him. Just as the eagle does not reach high places through its own strength alone, but glides on the "lift force" provided by the wind, likewise it is not through our own power and strength, our flesh, but through the grace and leadership that the Holy Spirit provides.

Something interesting happened two days after I wrote this song. I presented it to my church with the youth group singing along in harmony and the guest pastor we had that Sunday evening used a very similar example to clarify one of the points in his sermon. He talked about the technical aspect of flying airplanes and made the same comparison between air and plane, man and Holy Spirit. Later, his wife told me that in all his years teaching on these verses (Romans chapters 1-8) he had never before used this particular reference. We both were amazed at God's timing and guidance.

Ho scritto questa canzone dopo una settimana piuttosto lunga e stancante. Ho letto Isaia 40:27-31 dove Israele e Giuda gridano in disperazione al Signore chiedendo il perché Dio non si ricorda di loro. Il profeta risponde e ricorda a loro che coLui che ha creato tutte le cose e che continua a sostenerle non dorme mai, ma dà una forza nuova a tutti coloro che pongono la fede in Lui. Giusto come l'aquila non arriva ai luoghi alti dalla propria forza ma dipende sul vento che la rialza, anche noi, non dalla nostra forza o la nostra carne, ma dalla grazia e la guida delLo Spirito Santo riusciamo ad affrontare i nostri giorni.

Due giorni dopo d'aver scritto la canzone, l'ho presentata in chiesa durante la lode con i ragazzi del coro. Dopo, il pastore ospite ha usato un'esempio molto simile per chiarificare un punto della sua predica. Ha parlato degli aspetti tecnici nel far volare gli aeri facendo una paragone uguale fra l'aereo - vento e l'uomo - Spirito Santo. Dopo, la sua moglie mi ha detto che in tutti gli anni che ha sentito il suo marito predicare su questi versetti (Romani capitoli 1-8) non l'aveva mai usato questo esempio del volare. Eravamo entrambi più che felici di pensare al tempo giusto di Dio e della Sua guida.

I love how you use bible verses hat have inspired you. Most singers now in days just sing random stuff that "they themselves inspired"!? When all you really need is read the bible ansd you will have the words to sing! Shalom
