From what I've dug up, this was Chip Taylor's (Wild Thing, Angel Of The Morning, I Can't Let Go) first group. This is a Spector-meets-Beatles version of the old Ella Mae Morse song. It's a very bizarre arrangement of a standard, but I really like it.

This was originally released on the small Ford label and later picked up by a big company. You'll find out who re-released it by watching the whole video. Enjoy and crank it up!

And if you like those weird old obscure 45's, check out 60's Jangle Radio streaming on Live365! at http://www.live365.com/stations/bgspradlin4

  • The B side of the Ford label release, My Japanese Sweetheart, was reissued on Ford 143, backed with It Doesn't Matter Anymore, which was the B side of the Atco release of Blacksmith Blues.

  • This is the first time I've heard this version. I've been blown away by it - fabulous !
