David Ogletree was born with a mild autistic disorder, which made it difficult for him to interact with others. However, Ogletree was determined to live an independent life. He graduated from high school in 2005 and applied for employment with Vocational Guidance Services (VGS) in Cleveland, Ohio. Ogletree secured a position on an AbilityOne Program contract in the Power Sewing Division, and committed himself to training and advancing his skills at work. Ogletree now serves as the last set of eyes for inspection on military uniforms at VGS. As Final Inspection Processor, Ogletree is part of a division that produces 100 percent of the women's slacks for the U.S. Army and Navy, and a vast majority for the Marine Corps. Average production is more than 500 pairs of slacks a day and 100,000 per year. As a result of his hard work and achievement, Ogletree won the 2010 National William Usdane Award. In addition, he represented VGS as part of the NISH Grassroots Conference in Washington, D.C, where he met with numerous Congressional representatives from the state of Ohio.
Success for Managers is: Respect. To be paid to think, not just to comply. To be trusted.
