The Persian Gulf War or Gulf War (also known as the mother of all battles August 1990 28 February 1991)[7][8] was a conflict between Iraq and a coalition force from 34 nations[9] authorized by the United Nations (UN) but led primarily by the United States and the United Kingdom in order to return Kuwait to the control of the Emir of Kuwait. The conflict developed in the context of the IranIraq War and in 1990 Iraq accused Kuwait of stealing Iraq's oil through slant drilling.[10] The invasion of Kuwait by Iraqi troops was met with immediate economic sanctions against Iraq by some members of the UN Security Council, and with immediate preparation for war by the United States of America and the United Kingdom. The expulsion of Iraqi troops from Kuwait began in January 1991 and was a decisive victory for the coalition forces, which took over Kuwait and entered Iraqi territory. Aerial and ground combat was confined to Iraq, Kuwait, and bordering areas of Saudi Arabia. Iraq also launched missiles against targets in Saudi Arabia and Israel in retaliation for their support of the invading forces in Kuwait. Since the IranIraq War of 198088 had been called the "Persian Gulf War" by many news sources, the 1991 war has sometimes been called the "Second Persian Gulf War", but more commonly, the 1991 war is styled simply the "Gulf War" or the "First Gulf War", in distinction from the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[11] "Operation Desert Storm" was the coalition name of the air and land operations and is often used to refer to the conflict.

  • The First Rule of French Warfare: "France's armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman.

  • @neovannn If the USA had used all its weaponry, attacked every concrete Structure in Sight, attacked everything that moved with its snipers, Victory would have been achieved in 1 day. The only thing the US is concerned about is Civilian Casualties to be Zero. That's the only reason, the war exceeded 10 years. Don't undermine US because of the silly false information that you seem to believe.

  • @3daysuntilgrace I was talking about Operation Iraqi freedom..

  • @charlieking100 so on wikipedia it said this war took 210 days??? ur saying 10 years?? idk what the hell this war is i just wanted to learn about it

  • Arse-hole commenter sound like he's getting a hard on.

  • @ikisilver Despite the fact it was a coalition force of 34 nations authorized by the United Nations but had a U.S. general in command of the whole operation in the 1991 GulF War, the U.S. provided 90% of weaponery and more of it's troop than all 34 nations combined due to the fact that the U.S. was a superpower.

  • WTF USA get all the f ing credit when mu dad spent 1 year tracking someone down as a sniper and picking targets carefully, got hating by his battalion which is around 1000 people almost got killed and all he gets is a medal and a well done from the commander bullshit i tell u bullshit

  • Instant thunder was a joke

  • @charlieking100 Go back to school and not a US one as its quite obvious they only learn about US history and nothing else. Its like US is the world and other countries are not important. Once US stops behaving like an arrogant dictator, the world will see peace. Of course there will be massive jobs losses at Lockheed, General Dynamics, FLIR as there will be no one to buy their arms. So are you saying that loss of lives is not important as loss of jobs?? US unemployment is due to stupidity

  • @charlieking100 Yah US is a scapegoat and why is that so?? Cause US keeps sticking their nose in other country. What do you think US will do if other nations get involve in US affairs?? Religious fanatism was caused by superpowers namely US, Britain. Quite obvious you do not know yoru history and try to justify every stupid US actions. I wonder who supplied arms to Taliban in the beginning? I wonder who took away Palistine and gave it to Israel and now its 2 generations of war

  • @singaporeshithead Sometimes Success is determined by the least amount of collateral damage. That is always there, for any country. People must recognize the damage caused by religious fanatism and medieval ideas that lead to nowhere instead of blaming US for all the problems of the world. US seems like an easy scapegoat for other nations breaking all of the rules.

  • @irondeth2 You can count the UK's history as your own too. After all you were created from us, and the Thirteen Colonies.
