@kocouRrr1 I respect your opinion, but I must say that Beyonce doesnt have the range that the other artists that I mention do. When Beyonce sings it songs like she is yelling during a marching band. I do agree she is a great talent but there is a difference between being a entertainer and a being a true songstress. Kelly Clarkson is a better singer than Beyonce IMHO.

I understand that song like this created the music history and I agree that Whitney Houston is one of the rare voices 4ever ever..but Beyonce is the greatest performer and singer, which walk on this surface for all time. A role model for millions people all over the world. That´s why they call her queen..and her live performance is experience of a lifetime. In fact for all listeners music is good and bad..but you cannot collate present and the past.

I don't care who sings this song for the new version: NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE can compare it to those sassy soulful vocals of Inrene Cara. I don't care what ANYBODY says!! As for this new film version, people forget that it caputered a time in music , the story of a city, NY and of a school that not many outside those who aspired in the arts had ever heard of. Those were the ingriedients that made it so successfull & timeless.

Beyonce, Rihanna, or Keri Hilson have nothing on the women of the 80's and early 90's. Irene Cara, Laura Branigan, Celine Dion, and Whitney Houston have some of the greatest voices of all time and don't have to reveal half their bodies to prove it. Thumbs up if you agree
