I never seen this strange jellyfish in Ireland before. After searching on the intenet I think I found what was that - Bolinopsis infundibulum. Is it correct?

  • That is a Comb Jellyfish. Don't let the name fool you.  That is not a true jellyfish. Just search comb jellyfish and you'll find a wikipedia article on Ctenophora.

  • @ELVISiWC Its a comb jellyfish ( a ctenophore). This jellyfish is actually pretty big and is considered an adult. These things are amazing right? :)

  • this is a baby jellyfish , i saw quite a number of it few months back when i was at the beach. pretty cool!

  • it's definately a cone jellyfish, unfamiliar to the species.

    displaying Bioluminescence. a very nice find :)
