The 15th ranked Oklahoma Sooners coached by Gary Gibbs made the long trip to Syracuse, New York to play the Orangemen. This, like the 1997 game, would be an instant classic. Oklahoma, led by several offensive playmakers including Quarterback Garrick McGee, Running Backs Jerald Moore & James Allen, and Wide Receivers P.J. Mills & Albert Hall would jump out to a 24-0 at halftime. The Orangemen would come storming back in the second half to take a 29-27 lead with less than a minute to go. McGee would then lead the Sooners on a last minute drive down the field to set up a game winning field goal by kicker/punter Scott Blanton.

The 1994 season would be a disappointing one for the program. So much talent gone to waste. Although, Gary Gibbs underperformed that season, some Oklahoma fans treatment of him was classless.

  • Midfield?! OU ran the ball back to the 36. Syracuse lost because they couldn't stop OU on a 4th and 13!

  • I would give almost anything to go back to the 90's and be able to go to Syracuse games like this.... life was great then.

  • @dbohon77 very crazy. This was 1 of the best games I ever saw there, even though Syracuse lost. Such a heartbreaker for us Syracuse fans.

  • @CuseStuckinWA I was at this game with my Dad and Uncle and Cousin, we stayed til the very end, we were in section 249 right in the endzone where they kicked the final field goal to win it. Im a diehard Syracuse fan and to come back from 24-0 to make it a game was crazy. 1 of the best games I ever saw there even though Syracuse lost.

  • I was at this game with my Grandparents (God rest their souls) and I remember we leaft the game when it was 27-14. They were old and didn't like dealing with traffic. I remember being on the bus listening to Syracuse make it a game again.. Man was i pissed lol

  • I was at this game and let me tell you, when SU scored that go-ahead touchdown I have never experienced such noise! It didn't stop til the OU FG went through. I remember feeling sorry for the Sooner players on that final drive as I couldn't even hear myself think. This was much louder than ANY concert I have ever been to.

  • i was in the 4th grade too theone! except i was at home in oklahoma watching this game it was so exciting for me and my dad awesome memory

  • @pollofrito21 god I loved going to games back in the 90's Syracuse was sooooooo much better then they are now. Coach P was so good compared to the crap we have now.

  • Kevin Mason, Marvin Harrison, Kirby Dar Dar, Kevin Abrams, Dan Conley. God I remember this team well. Syracuse never should have lost this game though. I was in the endzone that Blanton kicked it to at the end. section 249. ugh, such heartbreak.

  • omg....I was at this game!! I was in 4th grade haha. I remember this game very well, Syracuse game back and lost it at the end by a damn field goal. This was back when we use to have Season tickets. I believe they played Miami in the Dome this year as well, but Miami clobbered Syracuse.

  • Watching clips of Cuse football like these are depressing considering the past decade of football we've had to watch.
