The striking techniques taught in Muay Thai present a very, very real danger of serious maiming injury or death. The throws taught in Judo present a very real and present danger of serious spinal injury, concussion or death.
The chokes and locks taught in BJJ have a very real danger of becoming fatal or permanently maiming. Make no mistake, they are deadly. And they are trained in an alive manner.
Sparring should always be controlled, but it is also absolutely vital.

Arteanor and his classical propaganda, when he himself is quite questionable, as well as his knowledge...whatever, not the subject.
Interesting how Hayes said he HAD TO "update" the art, like it was his duty, yet, he didn't master it, he is just making money.

this is a particularly funny quote, as Tanemura ( once top student, and cousin to hatsumi ) has absolutely no reason to lie here about this school...
now why would takamatsu teach the taijutsu of 'togakure' ryu as being Kukishin first... unless he only made up the toda- togakure story AFTER he was denied a chance to open a branch ryu by kukishin ryu... oh wait, there ARE no mentions of either Toda, any of his schools, or togakure BEFORE he is denied branch in 1950

'Tatara magazine page 6.
John Lindsey in an interview with Tanemura S asks: "Did Takamatsu S always call it Togakure ryu?":
"Not at first. When he was associated with the Kuki family he planed to introduce Kukishin Ryu Ninpo in the form of scrolls and densho. But after the war he distanced himself from the Kuki family and decided not to do this. then he met Hatsumi S. and Fukumoto s. Takamatsu S.i decided to teach them Ninpo. That is when he decided to use the name Ninpo.'

@Arteanor All I know is after training with one of Hatsumi's students for less than 1 year and then seeing Hatsumi live himself for the first time in Atlanta Tai Kai, I felt in awe. I'm not one to worship another human being either, There just seems to be a feeling of over all correctness about what Hatsumi does and teaches. That's all.

Hatsumi is a ninja. He "employes" people to do different things for different purposes, whether or not these "employees" are even aware of it. Just my 2 cents, and that's ALL it's worth. Go watch some good Hatsumi videos on Youtube now and forget all this bickering. Have a good evening folks.

@metalfrommaine so many lies... "with grand master masaaki hatsumi " another fake ninja. "and is considered to be one of his best students" outright lie, hatsumi is finished with hayes. "and is the only westerner with a 10th dan rank " outright lie. "he teaches the same tequnics they taught 100's of years ago" how can this be? when all of the claims of ninjutsu come through Toda Masamitsu Shinryuken, and he is a fictional person.... takamatsu made up his 'ninjutsu' . you bought the lie...
