Alien Ant Farm drums cover: Rubber Mallet

excuse the spack face please!
This is my attempt tp cover Rubber Mallet. Not quite there but I think it's a reasonable attempt to recreate the awesome track of Mike Cosgrove.

The tom-tom parts aren't quite there, but I think that the bell part is quite close (forgive me if I'm wrong, Mike).

I would never expect to properly nail this track, it's more complex than it at first seems, and it seems very difficult at first... a real finger twister! It took me ages to get a take that was half decent.

I also do the stupidest face I've ever seen in my life!

Hope it helps some people and I hope that more people can post covers of this so we may finally be able to nail it with eachother's help.

Hey, excellent video. I always thought that was an awesome drum part, the bit with the cowbell and the snare sounds impossible on the song.

Btw, where did you get your splash cymbal stand? The one with the two cymbals on it.

oh it's just a yamaha boom stand of some sort with a tama clamp&boom attached to it :)

Nicely done mate! You sound almost there to me ^_^ For the tom part, although I dunno if it is right but it sounds ok, try doing (H=high tom, S=snare,HH=hihat) H,H,H,H, S,S, HH,HH, H,H, S,S, HH,HH, H,H,H,H,H,H,H,H, S,S, HH,HH etc. etc. Try it out... hope it helps ^_^

Man, I'm not a drummer, but I love AAF and this song especially. It's so syncopated and I know it's not easy to play... You did it justice and Mike Cosgrove would proud of you !

Mike Cosgrove is one of the most underrated drummers and that's a shame
