Okay to make this clear, this is NOT bashing 4Kids or making fun of them. This is actual facts from an interview between Anime News Network and Senior Vice President of Digital Media at 4Kids Entertainment Mark Kirk. This is NOT beating a dead horse because this is as close as we'll get to an official story.

The full interview can be found here:

  • @TheDudeMcDude One can assume that threats fall under the "hate mail" category. I thought it was mentioned in the video, but it's been a while since I watched it.

  • @ThaKoalaKing What're you talkin' about, threats? As far as people hate 4kids, I've heard people have never said anything like that.

  • @ThaKoalaKing So everything worked out in the end. The people that are angry at 4Kids and the ones who still hold a grudge towards them need to learn how to prioritize their lives. Being a little upset at what they did is one thing, but some of these anime fans take it way too far.

  • @TheDudeMcDude I've seen a few of the changes and yeah, they're not exactly the greatest thing ever. But people flying into an uproar and using threats? C'mon, that's just ridiculous. They dropped the ball by picking up the rights, they tried to make the best of it, and then when they realized they couldn't, they dropped the license. Funimation picked it up and are releasing the DVDs uncut with a much better voice cast and the Japanese audio.

  • My heart. Is broken.

Thank god Funimation still respects anime when they dub it. BI

  • @ThaKoalaKing Have you ever seen any changes, some are tolerable but some are cringe worthy and pointless and present huge plotholes. I am not a big fan of any Anime, but I find it entertaining. I they're going to dub an Anime, fine, if they're going to make changes, fine, but why don't they release it uncut or better yet WHY would they dub an Anime if it has graphic and violent content.

  • @TheDudeMcDude I know that a lot of anime nerds are morons and that you're probably one of them. Am I right, champ? Anybody who is mad at 4Kids for what they did to their "precious anime" needs to get a life. They edited a cartoon for kids. There are more important things in this world to get worked up over.

  • @ThaKoalaKing WOW, just from that sentence you have know idea what you're talking about and have no idea what this is all about

  • @BermyBeatz What? Brooke wasn't black..
