From The Soft Parade Remastered

Lyrics:

Poor Otis dead and gone
Left me here to sing his song
Pretty little girl with the red dress on
Poor Otis dead and gone

Back down, turn around slowly
Try it again, remembering when
It was easy, try it again
Much to easy, remembering when

All right, look at my shoes
Not quite the walkin' blues
Don't fight, too much to lose
Can't fight the runnin' blues

Well, I've got the runnin' blues
Runnin' away, back to L.A.
Got to find the dock on the bay
Maybe find it back in L.A.

Runnin' scared
Runnin' blue
Goin' so fast
What'll I do

Well, I've got the runnin' blues
Runnin' away, back to L.A.
Got to find the dock on the bay
Maybe find it back in L.A.

All right, look at my shoes
Not quite the walkin' blues
Don't fight, too much to lose
Can't fight the runnin' blues

All right, look at my shoes
Not quite the walkin' blues
Don't fight, too much to lose
Can't fight the runnin' blues

  • Poor Otis dead and gone...

  • @progreadicto

really, you think so? I'm a huge Doors fan, and this is one of my favourite Doors tracks, it doesn't exhibit the grandiose sounds of their more famous works, but it gives Jim and the boys space 2 show of some different styles, Jim does some great vocal Impressions of Dylan, and references to Otis which is lovely, and a very fluid lyrical structure, lots of verve and playfulness on this one, I think, which is a refreshing counter-point to some of their other work,

  • @79mojorisin ..he he, the real question is, is it Morally right NOT to "lose" them? maybe try a little bit of Yellow Submarine on her, that's always good for the little ones..;-)

  • This is a weird song. Try Riders on the Storm.

  • @79mojorisin You could always kill her.

  • I have this LP (vinyl) from the year 69 and consider it to be one of the best discs of them
