I bought this single too. I remember there being two big stories concerning this single.
1) The band apparently weren't pleased with it, but were 'forced' by the label to release it as a single. Hence it's absence from 'On The Outside'
2) There was a story in Kerrang at the time that a teenager was found dead on a beach somewhere and was wearing an 'Average Man' Symposium shirt and that the band offered to play the song as a one off for his mates if they could get to a gig of theirs.
