  • Nice, its good to see these old units still running strong. the reason the new units dont last as long as the old units is this:

old units= Made in USA. Quality

new units= Made in china. CRAP

    Nuff sed

  • The new one will probably last 7 years.

  • if it lasts 3 years with out a call be amazed.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Trane is still made in the USA.

  • @burtoncharlessmith you forgot the "3" in front of the "7".

  • @xctome

I'll get an amana or goodman. my parents had a Amana Radarange microwave oven back in the 70s and it is better than the new microwaves you can get for 60-100 bucks or more at walmart. and more powerful for less watts. so old stuff is definitely better. Sharp makes good microwaves made in USA with some imported parts.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Actually Carrier/Bryant units along with Goodman/Amana are all made i n the USA/Mexico. only Haier/Fedders units are made in china POS.

  • the old train executive units are the best running and the longest running units ever made. That new xb series trane might get out of the warranty period with only one compressor change and mabey 2 expansion valve changes. The new r-410a units have realy crappy expansion valves (TXV) they only last about 4-5 years between valve replacements. LONG LIVE THE OLD EXECUTIVE LINE OF UNITS. That old unit would still be running strong even after that new one is in the scrapp pile.

  • yeah, they want it back to see why it lasted so long so they can make damn sure the new models don't last that long or they'll go out of business

  • My old house had a o'keefe and merritt (or maybe magic chef...dont ask lol i didnt know they made a/c) central unit which was on it's 23 yr and running when we moved out of the house. Way underpowered though.

  • @AAVista

good I hope quality control gets very strict and the quality of stuff goes up. heck scrap made in china completely, we dont need them to make our stuff America can do it. I've been looking for "Made in USA" on products lately and buying those products. the reason this country is in so much debt is b/c all out money is going to china vs staying here.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Chinese-built appliances had a reputation for poor quality, thus short life but that is changing to good effect - but American-made ACs still reign in quality!
