This Rondo Alla Turca (The 3rd movement from Sonate K. 331) by W. A. Mozart on the tenor banjo. It's a fun little tune to play on the banjo.

  • I should think that Mozart purists will hate this, but personally I think it is great. I reckon the man himself would have enjoyed it too.

  • I think Mozart composed on tenor banjo ;), all his tunes are great on the instrument.

  • Hope you record more classical music on tenor. Look for my clip of "Hoedown" played on plectrum.

  • You might like to check out Ken Aoki's great version on plectrum banjo.

  • You're to be commended. But try this: get a better microphone or at least work on improiving your audio. And pick further up in the head for a fuller banjo tone. A banjo with an arch-top tone ring probably shouldn't be picked close to the bridge since they are inheirently sharper than falt-heads. Compare the two and I think you'll like the changes. Keep up the fine work.

  • I think Eddie Peabody would have approved of this performance, too.

I wish the audio had come through a little better, but it's a good addition to my Turkish March collection.

  • Very nice
