  • Wow. That's amazing. If a hundred of them show, that's still progress.

I wonder how many it takes to to start a town. Libertarianville is coming.

  • I keep thinking 2010 is the year we hit that 20k mark... this would be one way to do it. I like the idea of volunteer call centers better than paid callers. I'd volunteer for this kind of outreach effort.

  • im moving asap i have legal issues down in miami right now

  • I don't know, but if they only intended to support the project there are other ways to do that than sign up as participants. Basically, the 9800 people who signed up as participants have promised to move within 5 years of specific goals being met by FSP.

  • Almost 10,000 people have signed up to move to NH and there's a LOT more people who are interested in the FSP but not interested in moving... So, shove off.

  • I've already let those involved know that I"m interested.

  • @Dewdaahman

Its the interest involved. I self employeed person case a hell alot about any product they create from their own efforts. That person will be the most dedicated person for the product and at the same time still be paid.

  • "all volunteer" means ya got some skin in the game.. who is more dedicated to a position, one who volunteers time, effort, and makes sacrifices to do his/her part to promote that position or one who is paid and will promote just about any position for the right kinda money..? the wheat from the chaff, the seed from the hull.. seperate those that have a passion for what they believe in from those that are paid to believe, minus the passion.. my2cents..

  • We don't just want signups. We want signups from people who are actually serious about the FSP. That's his point.

  • I understand the concern but this has dragged on for way too long. I fail to see why they can't just get into a room and hammer out the details. Just get something people can generally agree on and do it. It's not all or nothing. They can stop and evaluate the efforts after some metric.

  • I agree with him that paying someone is problematic. But I do not see a problem with setting up the "call center" with freestateproject funding so that volunteers can make calls.

  • Love me some Ridley Report.

Suggestion: Petition the feds for a reallocation of tax proceeds removed from ACORN coffers. From one really bad non-profit group to some that are actually worthy of support.
