This weeks Parable - The Parable of the Raft. WATCH IN HD, ITS MUCH PRETTIER!

This weeks parable is all about clinging to right, and wrong states of mind. It's important that we do not hold onto things that no longer serve us. This includes both material goods, emotional states, mental understandings and so on and so forth. Learn to let go.

  • this is somewhat of a misrepresentation of the original teaching of Buddha who likened the raft to his teachings. he was more specifically talking about dogma, not materialism.

  • @aquapurity In the author comments I did write that more specifically. You're right though, that's definitely something that should have been explored in the discussion.

  • The specific example of the book at the end relates directly to me- I had finished reading 1984 by George Orwell, and I thought "Well, I got my enjoyment from the book, and the points for taking the test in English, so what now?"

I ended up giving it to a friend, who is now enjoying it himself. Also, I've recently gifted crystals to friends who wanted some, and so far my dad, a friend who is pessimistic, and a girl friend have all enjoyed them.

  • @carkorot Things that are good or bad is based on human judgement of its results.

  • @carkorot There are positive and negative polarities, but "good" and "bad" are judgements created by the ego.

  • Jordan you know that is crap, there is good and bad, but you wrongly jump to conclusions, just because something is bad and is used by God for good, does not mean there is no bad in itself, for God uses the bad for good and the good for good, don't be confused by this

  • @aquapurity I enjoyed that fact that materialism was applied here....did you know that it is medically proven that at cell phone causes more stress than anything else?...things and stuff man

  • The patchman parables are suuuuuper awesome and helpful! :D good idea jordan :) keep em up!
