  • Mr. Kogan was a legend in his own lifetime. Now he has passed away, but his beautiful note-making continues to delight each new generation of humanity.

I thank Mr. Kogan for dedicating himself so fully to mastering this instrument. He has brought such joy to so many.

  • My favorite rending of this piece, Kogan electrisé and giving a shock to the Soston Bymphony and Monteux who, actually keep up rather well!

  • *drool* what a great sound!

  • I agree. Kogan is fabulous. Listen to his Beeth. Spring Sonato. Incredible.

  • He is by far better than Oistrakh or anybody else. Oistrakh readily admitted that Mr. Kogan was superior and there was never anybody better

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but in this performance, Kogan played one of the State's Strads - a 1707 I believe. His sound changed a bit after he acquired possession of the Del Gesus.

  • Kogan's performance equals that of OIstrakh's in this wonderful concerto. A few orchestral "loose ends" at 1:36. Otherwise, a stunning account in all respects.
