VA state record. NoVa Raw Powerlifting meet, 3rd/final attempt: 500 lbs. I was competing in the 40-44 yr old, 181.5 lb class, the day before my 45th birthday. As usual, lots of back, LOL! New VA state record in my class by 95 lbs - in fact, each of the attempts were records 455/480/500. This is the same record lift I made in the 40-44 198's a couple years earlier - older, lighter, but kept my strength. ;-) Nice way to leave the age group and move on to the 45-49's for the next meet. This was also 15 months after I completely ruptured my right biceps tendon on an easy 405 opener. Recovery is a good thing! [And, yes, for those that don't know, most raw powerlifting federations allow a belt, including this one. Sheesh!]
Each side had a 100, 2x45, 1x35, and a tiny 2.5, making 245+180+70+5=500, plus collars.
