Known for a smile that could brighten up a room, Heath River Eiland believed in treating everyone the same. Heath never let what he didn't have keep him from enjoying what he did have. He saw the good in everyone and the positive in everything. On May 10th, 2011, Heath suffered head injuries from a fall while longboarding near the Mopac bridge on Parmer Lane. Heath was not wearing a helmet. Sadly, he never recovered from his injuries and passed away. Heath continued his giving spirit and became a local hero, helping others by becoming an organ and tissue donor. Directed by Tania Romero & Rebecca Eiland. This film is a 2013 Faces of Austin selection. For more information, visit www.austintexas.gov/facesofaustin.
