Mic Checking Chicago Alderman Joe Moore

Joe Moore wants to become IL EPA director and have his wife appointed to replace him on the Chicago City Council. So to curry favor with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Joe voted for a bad budget that is not what his constituents need. So, we mic-checked him.

Joe Moore himself said at his last election victory party that explaining what you're doing is almost as important as the job itself. Not only has Joe not explained the budget vote on his own terms, he cut a backroom deal for his own benefit, to get his wife appointed. There's no explaining that (not that he tried), it's just Todd Stroger style nepotism.

I fully support the Occupy movement, but not this sad excuse for an action. If any of you boneheads looked around that room, you would have seen some of the most progressive minded people, that have dedicated 50+ years fighting for the working class. Most of the old people in that video have been on the front lines since the 60's and go to these 49th ward meeting monthly. but instead you wanted to show up ONE TIME chant and then, "get the fuck out of here."
