Firstly a very beautiful country. Secondly, is Croatia on the Mediterranean or Adriatic Sea?.....confusing. The motto is 'The Mediterranean as it once was".....Could any one please explain.

'The Mediterranean has two meanings. It is related to Mediterranean Sea but it is also means "a geographic region which includes countries like Spain, Italy, Greece and also Croatia". These are the Mediterranean countries.

The Mediterranean Sea includs: the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov, the Aegean Sea, the Adriatic Sea, the Ligurian Sea, the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Ionian Sea, and the Sea of Marmara.

Actually Adriatic sea is a part of Mediterranean sea just like Ionian or Ligurian seas, or Norwegian and Carribean seas are parts of Atlantic ocean.

The meaning of "as it once was" imho represents the idea that you won't find much of architecture of medieval times or even Roman empire in resorts of other Mediterranean countries.

And, of course, Croatia is the most beautiful country at least in Europe.
