Once again a redone review, this time because the last review was more like a let's play with a scoreboard strapped on it...

Karoshi 2.0 is a game where your goal is not to save yourself or someone else but to kill yourself. It starts out simple but gets extremely hard later.

The first thing you notice is probably the happy music that sets a strange mood. It's kind of ridicoulus but still nice to listen too. The presentation also gains from the rich visuals that are extremely simple but still has a charm to them.

The gameplay is of course the most important aspect and it holds up really well. You move with the arrow keys and jump with Z, The controlls are in other words really simple which in this case is a good thing.

The game lacks a story though which is a shame, I would like to see what the maker could've come up with that made this poor sallary man take his life so many times... I don't think it needs a story although it would've been a nice addition.

Replay value is also decent as the game includes not only the 50 + levels campain but also a speedrun version of the first Karoshi game, custom levels and a level editor. Although the editor isn't that great and you can only make levels that consists of the simplest tools like boxes, buttons and spikes it's still a nice addition.

Scoreboard time!

Gameplay: 8/10 Most of the levels are fun and challenging but sometimes they're just plain evil and forcing the gamer to think that D, the key to victory in a level, deletes the game is just plain mean. The simple controlls and entertaining levels makes it a fun game.

Graphics: 6/10 Karoshi looks decent and has a nice charm. It's not stunning but saying it's okay is an understaitment.

Story: 0/5 I would've liked a story although it wasn't needed. Sadly the game lacks it.

Sound/Music: 8/10 The happy music and cool sounds gives the game a happy vibe which is a good thing.

Replay value: 7/10 50+ levels, speedrun of the first game, custom levels AND a level editor. It sure has some replay value!

Total: 29/45

Karoshi 2.0 has nice presentation and gameplay as well as some sick humour. It's free and fun so give it a try!

Cya in the next ZZreviews. Bye!
