Gogol Bordello performing "Start Wearing Purple" at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Hehe, Eugene is posing for my camera. So awesome. It's hard to see him looking at the cam because the quality on Youtube sucks. One of the coolest things I've ever experienced. I will have to go to another one of their shows someday.

  • Hey, GreedyMuppet, I saw you! I was in the front shooting photos.

  • Cool!

I always enjoy it when people who have never met before and coexist in the same place at some point end up, at another time in their lives, finding themselves in each other's presence once again.

It's nice to know I shared this experience with you guys.

  • i was about 20 people back from you. what an insane show, eh?

  • Yeah! I've only been to two concerts in my life, and I imagine any future ones will have a hard time living up to the Gogol Bordello show. In case you saw me, I had short hair and was wearing horns. My friend was in the more aggressive area of the crowd and got her dress pulled down a few times, haha. She was the unicyclist with the ladybug dress, if you saw her.

I cannot believe the energy they put into all of their shows. Just amazing.

  • i did see the ladybug dress girl! i wondered how that was working out for her. strapless items are not generally at the top of my list for mosh-intensive shows, but hey, she gets credit. i wasn't in anything nearly so showy; brown pants, a long white top with a short black one over it. i was doing serious dancing, though.

unrelated: i went to bowdoin. the closest we got to a show this good was the hold steady, but they were pretty awesome nonetheless. cheers for bates!

  • Yeah, I go to Farmington, which isn't really a place where well-known bands would want to come. Mostly we get local bands or people from within the school, because it's such a small college.

I don't remember seeing you. Wish I could remember...Ah well. I'm glad we shared the same experience. :)
