Love Bites—Chapter 19
Joe stopped the car in front of the house. There were other cars there too. They must already be here.

Joe: Okay, you ready? (He looked over at me)
Demi: I really dont have a choice, do I? (I sighed)
Joe: Of course you do, (He grabbed my hand) If you dont want to do this, I wont make you.
Demi: Joe, I know Ill have to at some point, might as well be now.

We walked into the house and I forced a smile. They all sat in the living room, awaiting my arrival. I got really scared and tried to think of the best.

Joe: This is Demi. (He smiled)

Everyone just smiled back, getting up slowly to greet me one by one. There were about five here. I had no idea if more were coming. There was Jason, tall and stunning. You can tell he was a little shy. Jemma, Jasons sister, beautiful like her brother but shorter and not nearly as shy. Chelsea, blonde and gorgeous, obviously has a little crush on Joe. Go figure. Nicole, outspoken and pretty, she was a brunette obviously not friends with Selena. Finally, there was Alex. He was handsome, smooth, and a little too friendly.

Alex: (Throwing his arm around me) This is nice . . . being friends with a mortal. (He smiled)
Joe: You guys just met her. (He tilted his head)
Jemma: True, but I have a feeling shes going to be here for a while. (She winked at Joe)
Joe: Whatd you see? (He turned to Selena)
Selena: Uh, Joe—
Jason: You need to calm down. (He said to me)
Demi: Huh?
Jason: I can sense that youre tense and scared. Its fine. We wont hurt you. (He patted me on the shoulder)

I calmed myself and looked over at Miley. I always forget she can hear what I think, but is she even paying attention to anything?

Miley: (Looking over) Huh?
Demi: You okay?
Miley: Im fine . . . since when do you care? (Ouch!)
Demi: I dont . . .

I was thinking that I really do, and Im sure she heard that. Jemma grabbed my hand, pulling me away from the chaos.

Jemma: Just a heads up . . . (She touched my shoulder and I heard her voice in my mind: *Watch out for Chelsea. Shes always had a thing for Joe. Another thing, Alex obviously likes you, dont do anything stupid. Mileys the only one who could possibly hear us right now.* She pulled her hand away and smiled.)
Demi: How . . . ? (I put my hand on my head)
Jemma: Its my gift. (She smiled again) Like Jason can read peoples feelings and emotions. Chelsea is a lot stronger than she looks. Nicole can befriend anyone and control how they feel towards her. Alex has his looks and his amazing charm. No one can resist him. (She sighed) Just remember what I said.

No one can resist him? I think Im doing a pretty good job. Chelsea was really strong . . . that was a little scary. I looked over at Miley who had a worried look on her face. I wonder what she was thinking.
