why are they wasting time on scene with baseline vitals which can be obtained in route? get a c-collar on this patient, secured to a backboard, and transport.
The video DOES say you can defer the vitals until en route. The NREMT only requires that they be done after the initial assessment. Thanks for your comment.
Well cool that it showed a more of a real life scenerio.I wondered if I would be able to go through the trauma or medical assessment in exact order after scene size up and initial.
you CAN follow that exact order, if you want, but it is not required/recommended. the patient's criticality should dictate. If you are trying to stay within the "Platinum Ten", you will need to transport before the detailed exam is considered (according to the NREMT chcklist).
