What the artist is trying to convey is, We don't seek the Lord just for blessings we seek the Lord because we want Him! You don't seek blessings first, you seek the Blesser He always brings blessing with Him!

I believe God is pleased when His creation desires being with Him more than just receiving blessings from Him. As a dad, I love my children spending time with me...not just asking me for stuff. I look at the Fire as the means whereby He consumes my flesh. We are to present ourselves to Him as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable, which is our reasonable service of worship. Send the fire....consume my flesh, burn off the dross, purify me....that I may be conformed to the image of Christ.

A couple things in the lyrics worry me: God' blessings should be greatly appreciated in all humbleness. Who am I to tell God His blessings aren't enough? Secondly, God's fire is the all- consuming fire of judgment. Fire from heaven ( or the sky) always destroys. .
