Anyone here ever been to Flint? I have. Went down the wrong street and wound up in a block where every single house on the street was abandoned and boarded up. Grew up outside Detroit and never seen that kinda poverty up close. Now Detroit is starting to look that bad but wont ever take the cake from Flint. I made this trip after fehrenheit 9/11 came out and decided to see for myself what Flint was like. This whole state is in a damn mess its gotten so much worse God help Michigan and Flint.

Born and raised in Michigan here. Been to Flint many times. I don't understand why there is so much hate here on this page for our state and its cities. The negative attitude is the first step to correcting the many problems our cities face.

Also, EVERY city has a 'bad' area or a 'bad' side of town. Every single city. I hate that Detroit, where I currently live, and Flint get the heat all the time.

I also hate that Michiganders don't care anymore....I don't see the love that we need to invest!

i grew up in Flushing, MI which borders the North Side of Flint. my mom and dad met each other at Buick City. i attended Mott Community College. Flint is a town with character. every town is boarded up. look at Gary, IN or Pontiac, MI or Memphis, or New Orleans, or Detroit, or Chicago. there are ABSOLUTELY NO JOBS available for the union workers in America.

im from canada and one day in the late 90s we had a hockey tournament in detroit, my father decided to show us flint michigan to show us how bad things can get, it was just liqour stores and boarded up houses and tons of people standing on the streets, scary stuff

It baffles me how Republicans criticize Moore for being a socialist who wants to take money away from "hard working" billionaires/millionaires and give it to those who are lazy on welfare all the while he is against Republicans taking work away from hard working poor/middle-class Americans and giving it to cheap labor markets so Republicans can make more profit.
