@jeffrey44 i remember the millennium late night special where they showed some outtakes and richard bacon called a pig a cunt cos it bit him. i was quite shocked as a 14 year old.

Reminds me of when Richard Bacon changed his shirt to go to speak with Roland Rat and then changed it back when he went downstairs again.
To be fair, although I knew the Roland Rat bits were pre-recorded, I only noticed the shirt because Richard Bacon himself pointed it out.

Did you zoom in to this clip when it was shown before/after the break on a more recent episode?
Was it live when it first went out? The fact that Chris Evans was there makes me think it was probably a prerecorded item.

jeffrey44 - Yes, I did zoom / crop the picture. The clip comes from the 1000th edition, where they were showing classic clips before and after the ads.
It was originally shown in a 1993 episode 'as if live', but it was in fact pre-recorded.

How did they explain the fact that Chris Evans was there when he would also have been at the house too?

jeffrey44 - They just made sure that Chris wasn't on screen for a few minutes before or after, to give the impression that he'd travelled to and from a site close to the house.
In reality though, there's nowhere even closely matching the appearance of that location anywhere near to the house, in that part of East London.
But the majority of the audience perhaps wouldn't know the area well enough to have realised that. And they only implied that it was live, without actually saying so.
