I think Oprah was a bit cold here--so mechanical....
absolutely no compassion. I think Marion would be a wonderful lawyer....

@upt123 First of all she is not the only one taking performance enhancing drugs ALOT OF THEM ARE. Second they had no evidence to indict Marion she basically gave the information away because of the pressure they put on her. This means she has a conscience and actually did the right thing on her own volition. The people that are first to judge her do not understand the situation she was put in. I think I probably would have lied if I was put in the same position as her. Anyway I still lover her.

What I don't get about this whole thing is that she was running faster times before she took drugs
-
it's kinda sad that all that work that she did from 2000 on is erased because of her tragic error of taking performance enhancing drugs.she obviously didn't have confidence in herself. well, everyone makes mistakes, there are many athletes who have taken those drugs. at least she learned a lesson from all of this.

MARION, YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!

of course you would have won anyway, Marion. You still would have won, with or without the clear. An amazing sprinter. This woman is honest.

Ah, I do not understand; Marion Jones won the 200 meters with a time of 21.85 and the 100m with a time of 10.75, now, lets see how the Jamaicans did in Beijing; Sherlly-Ann Frasier won the 100 meters with a time .... 10.78 (uhm, no cheating, but the same result, go figure), while Veronica Campbell-Brown won the 200 meters with a time of, surprise, 21. 75! Then again, I do not see where is the outrage, I think it's time to move on.

if she was on steroids running 10.7 and 10.8 and killing people how was flo jo running 10.49 I mean REALLY
I still love and respect her as a athlete and as a person. She has endured this with as much grace as humanly possible. Too often this nation magnifys flaws when none of us are perfect. If we were honest about it, if faced with Marion's situation many of us would have done the same. This is not to say these actions are correct but they are human. As one man said maybe the agencies and officals in power should pratice what wthey preach. Sometimes this nation is so hypocritical.

Marion Jones; You are now more of a hero than you ever were before. There were alot of atheletes who cheated long before you arrived and they denied using; your honesty far outweighs their lies. Be proud of who you are;I Am.
Your children will always love you, even they will learn the world is not perfect, but mom was honest and she spoke the truth. You are loved by many, be happy about that; Love conquers all things. Thank you Oprah, for many telecasts!!!
