CPU - too much thermal paste? SOLVED

Could CPU overheating be what's causing my computer to turn off when booting?

PROBLEM SOLVED - this was indeed the problem. The computer now works fine, ready for editing new covers and spreading metal! \m/

@DarkScythe33398 Currently making the video for "Prey of the Dragon" so it should be up soon. It's a very complex video with tons of angles and stuff so it takes a while to make :)

@Brutalyeah Thanks! I installed Windows 7 yesterday, going to install drivers and stuff today. Then I'll need Cubase 6 too, and it's coming sometime next week. As soon as I get it, I'll definitely cover Liar finally :P

Hehe cool, and some of Endgame and Th1rt3en maybe! That Chris Broderick stuff is really awesome! Like the solo of ''How The Story Ends''. Fingerpicking, cool harmonics, 8 finger tap and sweep picks of 6 strings... if you can manage that XD.

@Brutalyeah Yeah, that's his best solo in Megadeth IMO. Very good solo, I might be able to get that last part, it depends on what the arpeggios look like. :P

@Xaeravoq On a second thought, it might not have been the CPU cooling, as this problem actually reappeared once more. But I don't get the question with the countdown timer anymore since I answered "No". It only used to reset when this countdown reached "8", which is really weirdl I've contacted Gigabyte regarding the beep code.

i would say that that is a bit too much thermal paste. having some ooze out os the sides is okay but that seems to be too much. then again... i dont think that will cause problems.
