This is a videogame reinterpretation of Meshuggah's music.

The first part contains Automony Lost, followed by Rational Gaze. Instead of doing a simple midi-to-vgm FL Studio hack job, I did more by meticulously changing things around, slightly altering bass/guitar lines, thickening the sound with some delicious high-end synths, increasing general tempo, and more importantly: I've added extra melodies and twiddly bits.

The hardest part however, was to get this all sounding relatively nice, and while I still think some parts could have been done better (like the solo), I think it sounds pretty solid. So put your volume on max and bang your head along to this track!!

Plugins 'n stuff used: Magical8bit, FM7, FM8, Nexus, NES Soundfont, The Ultimate Megadrive Soundfont, Sonic 2 ripped drum samples, SynthFont program (for the pitch bending solo, FL Studio failed at it)

  • Holy cow man! This is amaaaazzzinng!!!

  • does that snare come from sonic?

  • The Genesis Chip was strangely awesome for emulating raw distorted guitar tones. Take a listen of the intro from Demolition Man on Genesis and compare it with the SNES version.

    BTW, this is awesome!
