Michael Nyman: "Bird List Song" (1979)

Another rare piece. The Michael Nyman Band performs the "Bird List Song" (appears 1981 on the untitled LP "Michael Nyman"-Piano Sheet Record 005).

Better known as filmmusic to Peter Greenaways "The Falls". In the beginning all 92 "Falls" are shown. Then, the 92 different birds are in somewhat arbitrary order...

Nice mash-up here. In this song, The Falls is like a Goon Show movie scored by Steve Reich. Good stuff. Is there a remix of this piece anywhere?

This is amazing. this is a legendary piece, but i've never gotten to hear this version. I only wish the names were better synced to the audio, but I know that's extremely difficult in Flash..

Ha! Didn't realise there were 92 birds mentioned, brilliant. these two had such a great working relationship. this version with the eletric guitar is slightly different from the one used in the film, fact fans.
