Railfannning Cajon Pass. Sunrise to sunset PT.3: 3 shave and a haircuts and 7 trains!!!

On January 31,2009, the people at West Coast Rail Forums had their 4th annual Big Cajona!!!!!!! It was a lot of fun! 15-20 people were there! We saw a lot of friendly engineers. Here is the order of the trains in the video....

Train #1- BNSF helpers come down the pas giving 2 shave and a haircuts!!!!!!!

Train #2-BNSF stacktrain slowly comes down the pass.

Train #3- BNSF stack with 7 engines come up the pass on the new track!!

Train #4- The MLRWC Comes down the pass giving a shave and a haircut!!!!

Train #5- BNSF manifest with 6 GEVO's

Train #6- UP Manifest goes up the pass.

Train #7- UP helpers going up the pass with some nice horn!

Pro use of clse ups... finally a amatuer alunderstand ts that filling frame with action creates impact Ncie use of mountain bacdrop... You could not miss using mountain backdrops at Cajon... Butttttt, pllllease no jumps cuts... Nice caopturing of unusual lash ups  including the UP BNSF mix

I understand the Cajon Pass is extremely steep. I remember about 20 years ago when a train with brake problems ran away down the pass at a high rate of speed, and derailed at the bottom of the mountain in San Bernardino destroying the entire train and several houses, and killing 4 people. 2 weeks later a gasoline pipeline under the tracks explosed after being damaged by cleanup operations, destroying more houses and taking more lives.
