The recently restored Swanage Pier is a fine example of Victorian civil engineering. When you walk along the pier board-walk you will see memorial and rememberance plaques embedded in nearly every single plank. A touching reminder of all those who have loved this place and who are no longer with us.
Swanage is reached by road or the steam railway that starts at Norden, stops at Corfe Castle village before finally stopping at Swanage.
Swanage lies in a bay which keeps the sea calm but as you can see in the video, just outside the reefs the water gets very choppy with strong tides.

It's a nice feature. Unique as I'm not aware of any other pier that has done this.
