I think there is a Shirley Valentine in all of us. Searching for who we are or who we were when we seem to feel lost.

I was glad that my parents split up. Believe me when a marraige is bad it impacts on the children. I do not believe in staying together 'for the sake of the children'. My mother is happy now. What chokes me as i should have explained, was realising that there are so many women in a stale,unhappy marraige and i saw that as a young child first hand. But the film also makes me laugh, because things get better and Shirley rediscovers herself, like my mum did. Thank you, God bless.
