During the lion walk, the guides would use bundles of straw tied to a stick to coax the lions to go in the same direction as the rest of us.

I found this terribly amusing, as I made a very similar cat toy out of yarn for my roommates cat several months prior... evidently lion cubs really are just overgrown housecats.
